Hong Kong

29 maart 2010 - Hong Kong Island, China

So yeah... Honk Kong.. went there too, almost forgot :) It was amazing. It was kind of off the track, but my dad strongly suggested I should go because he says it's gonna be the place where things will be happening in the world. And it indeed does give off that exact vibe. Very busy, very goal oriented, very impressive, very expensive and very multicultural. As far as I could see there were almost an even amount of caucasian, chinese, indian and black people all happily interacting.

The main sights I went to see were first of all the divine light / laser show they project onto Hong Kong's alredy impressively lit up skyline. The second thing I did was go on a cable cart over a mountain to the big Buddha statue. The Buddha is really nicely done I find, everything around it is a big capitalist money making tourist trap theme park, which sucks.

Night life in Hong Kong was very impressive. There was an international rugby tournament, so the streets of the going out district had been pretty much transformed into a club, full of international (British people). I'd walk around and walk in and out of the many mini clubs. I met a bunch of people, which is always an adventure. Sometimes I feel like I'm truly getting the hang of just going out on my own.

My dad also let me stay in another luxury hotel, which was again amazing. See pictures for my room. To cut the costs a little this time, I went to the bar / restaurant instead of the main restaurant. They had a buffet, this was amazing. I could get as much A+ quality salmon, steak, duck, sushi, veggies and all kinds of healthy stuff as I wanted. Desert was a large range of cakes and pastries. After that it was back to having breakfast on the curb and into my shity guesthouse room with sewege noises keeping me up at night :S
