Like I never left

10 december 2009 - Kuala Lumpur, Maleisië

Aaaaand that's me back at it! The flight this time was like a stroll through paradise compared to the flight back home, which had me puking and dying all over the place. I arrive in Kuala Lumpur; it's like I never left, I still remember everything and casually role into my hostel giving the owner a "hey, what's up?", which is replied by a casual nodd, all this as though 5 weeks had turned into 5 seconds and I never nearly died at all. Whether I actually nearly died, we shall never know. For those who missed the story, I got a one 1000 euro injection and 4 other vaccinations and at my last visit to the hospital the doctor was happy to see I was still alive. He concluded that this fact, could mean that I either, was never infected by the virus, or that the treatment had worked.

Right now, I am severly jet lagged and waiting till I can go back to sleep.

back home:
It was both really good and very strange to be back home for a while. What I especially liked was being around my family. Living with my parents and visiting my siblings was very enjoyable. As American as it may sounds, it is perhaps a trip such as my own, which makes you value what you have back home.

Seeing my friends and even meeting some new people was also very refreshing :)  Okay... while I'm writing this, my nose just starting profusely bleeding, wtf? That has never happened to me. I think this place brings me bad 'medical luck'. But anyway, it is somewhat shocking sometimes (though understandable), to see that everyone's lives continue on when you're not around. My volleyball team plays on without much having changed, my ex-girlfriend has a new boyfriend, some of my friends didn't even reply at all and everyone is just doing their thing as usual.

At various moments while I was back home I felt as though I sensed definite changes compared to how I was before I left. What is exactly different I do not know, nor do I care to define it, for it would be a vague guess and would merely create an image to live up to.

Thanx to everyone that I saw back home!!! I hope you could tell I enjoyed every second of it (except the crappy ones :P), for now, it's back to being out in the big bad world!

PS: little fun fact: just before I left, a dog bit me in the leg as I was cycling down the street :S It matters not, since I'm immune to any disease that anything that can bite can have :P

Haha, het is wel een aaneenschakeling van aanvallen door beesten. Karma?

Geniet van dit deel van je reis en we spreken naderhand wel weer iets af.
